How Big Is Your State’s Economy?
Here at the Exporting Excellence™ blog we’re big fans of international trade and spend a lot of time focusing on U.S. exports. As our blog has grown into a valuable resource for the exporting community at large, we’ve also developed a passion for the data and statistics that highlight the value of exports, international trade and macroeconomic issues. So, when we came across this recent blog post from the American Enterprise Institute, we couldn’t resist sharing it with our followers.
The map and blog post, which you can directly link to here, renames each U.S. state with the name of a country that has a similar sized GDP. What’s fascinating about this map is that it illustrates the depth of the U.S. economy on a state-by-state level, and gives readers a chance to see just how their state’s economy ranks against an entire nation. Some interesting substitutions include MINT member Nigeria which has a GDP equivalent to that of the state of Tennessee and California which boasts a GDP equivalent to BRIC member Brazil.
Crescent Air Freight offers service to all the countries mentioned in this map, and we would be happy to assist with your export plans for your state’s overseas equivalent country or any other export or import transactions you may have. Yup, we go there!
